Discover Patmos Beaches

Lovely beaches right at your doorstep

Patmos is blessed with an abundance of stunning beaches waiting to be explored. Nestled in Skala, Patmos Eye provides easy access to most of them!

Nestled in the gulf of the Patmos port, Agios Ioannis Theologos Beach beckons with its fine sand and beachside bar cafeterias, offering sunbeds and chairs. A short trip from Patmos Eye Luxury Villas allows you to enjoy an early morning dip and set the tone for the day.

For a more cosmopolitan beach experience, head 5.5 kilometers from Skala to Kambos Beach. Composed of sandy shores and small pebble chippings, this beach boasts George’s Place, a famous beach bar offering cocktails, snacks, cold dishes, and sweet treats. Be sure to arrive early or make a reservation, especially in August, as it’s one of Patmos’ most popular spots, perfect for water sports enthusiasts, teenagers, and those who enjoy a lively atmosphere.

Just 4 kilometers from Skala, Agriolivadi Beach welcomes you with its clear and shallow waters. This organized beach features a beach bar and a restaurant serving delicious homemade cuisine. It’s a paradise for children, offering a wide range of water sports activities that will keep the whole family entertained until dusk.

With fine pebbles and natural shade provided by tamarisk trees, it’s an ideal place for games and relaxation. A beachside restaurant serves delightful homemade dishes, and there’s also a cafeteria. While sunbeds are not available, the short distance from Scala (just 500 meters) and the calm waters make Meloi a great spot for families.

Venture to the southern part of the island, about 5 kilometers from Skala, to discover Petra Beach. This is Patmos’ quietest beach, adorned with large pebbles and deep waters, offering tranquility for adults seeking a serene escape. A beach bar and sunbeds provide comfort, and don’t miss the famous rock formation “Kallikatsou,” which overlooks the beach.

Located between Skala and Grikos, Sapsila Beach features fine pebbles and clear waters. While it’s not an organized beach, the water tends to be warmer here.

This one is home to a hotel-owned, organized beach where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and a quick snack.

For crystal-clear waters that sparkle in the Aegean, journey to the northern part of Patmos, about 6 kilometers from Skala, to reach Livadi Geranou pebble beach. Although unorganized, it’s a popular spot. The water may not be shallow, but it’s incredibly clear and invigorating. You can even swim to the nearby island of Saint George.

Heading north of the island, 7 kilometers from Skala, you’ll encounter the renowned Lambi Beach, named after its sun-like dark red stones. While this beach is suitable for families, note that the water isn’t very shallow. Before your visit, check the wind direction, as north winds can make the water quite rough. Lambi Beach is known not only for its shoreline but also its delectable food. After a refreshing swim, be sure to visit the fish tavern famous for its fresh catches. This organized beach also features a beach bar for your convenience.
